    Many Local 38 members are facing financial difficulties due to the current COVID-19 outbreak. Here are the forms necessary to access your Vacation and Holiday accounts, and to apply for Local 38's supplemental unemployment benefit:

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Local 38’s Supplemental Unemployment Benefit (SUB) is available only to members receiving unemployment payments from the California Employment Development Department (EDD), are on the Local 38 Out of Work List, and who meet the hours requirement. When submitting your Group SUB application make sure you include detailed proof of payment from EDD.”

      Santa Rosa Training Tour

      Touring Santa Rosa Training Center Renovations    The Local 38 Training Department  continues to expand and renovate the Santa Rosa Training Center, adding new classrooms, shop space and equipment.    “We have always been proud of our Santa Rosa school,” said Training Director Steve Mazzola.

      A recent study of more than 730,000 COVID-19 tests found that construction workers had the highest positivity rates for asymptomatic cases of any occupation, including healthcare staff, first responders, correctional personnel, elderly care workers, grocery store workers and food service employees. The study was conducted in Los Angeles between August and October showed construction workers had a positivity rate of 5.7% for individuals who were asymptomatic, and 10.1% for those with symptoms, according to the study.

      The attached flyer has been prepared by the City of San Francisco, in cooperation with the San Francisco Builidng and Construction Trades Council (SFBCTC) to assist construction workers in slowing the spread of the pandemic.

      New Local 38 cloth masks are now for sale. Show your Union pride while protecting yourself and others from COVID-19. Masks come in blue with “Local 38” displayed on the right side. The masks are only available for in-person pickup at the San Francisco and Santa Rosa union offices. They are $8 each, one size fits all.
